Learn How to Be Smart About Asian Food

Asian food is one of the most popular foods from another land served in our country. We can find Asian restaurants that are famous for fine dining, large national chains and small greasy spoon fast food style restaurants. Asia is one of the largest continents but at the same time it is one of the most diverse. The types of people that are considered Asian are: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, Malaysian, Indonesian, Thai, Philippines, and Vietnamese. With so many people from so many different countries you can see why there is such a wide variety in Asian foods. One thing for certain is that Asian people use lots of spices in their cooking.

First, Steaming is a very popular method of cooking in certain certain Asian countries. This is especially true among the Chinese, Japanese and Koreans. This method of cooking preserves the nutrients that are in the food before they are digested and consumed.

Secondly, another way to eat food that maintains all of its nutrients is to eat it raw. This is done by many Asian cultures. The Japanese are famous for eating raw fish (Sashimi). Many of the people eat vegetables and fruits raw, they just dip them in different sauces to enhance the flavor.

Third, the color of food and the way it is presented is important to Asian people. Especially popular among the Thai, Indonesian and Malay people. Chili is quite popular for its color and the heat it provides to the taste. The wonderful combination of color and texture create a wonderful dining experience.

Lastly, if you have not tried the many different types of Asian foods I insist that you experiment and try a few. You will be in for the most wonderful and fulfilling eating experience of your life.
